Boarding
Long gone are the days when boarding houses consisted of regimented dormitories filled with lines of beds and cold wooden floors! At Barnardiston Hall, we have excellent boarding accommodation and were commended during a recent ISI report for the warm and homely atmosphere of the boarding house, with an Outstanding grade being awarded.
All the boarders live in the Main House with Mr Dodgson and his wife as part of their 'extended family'. Supportive residential staff and matrons make up the team of carers and a close 'parental' interest is taken in homework and hobbies.
The Junior Boarding Wing is almost unique amongst boarding schools, accepting children from 6 years of age. Day children too can board for the occasional night and this is very popular with children as well as with parents who may want to go out in the evening or away for a few days without disrupting their child's normal routine.
Barnardiston Hall enjoys its link with the Services and several children of serving personnel board, either weekly or full time. We also have children whose parents live overseas and for all of these children we arrange airport transfers and exeat cover at the School.
After-School Care and Overnight Boarding
In addition to Breakfast and Supper Clubs, the School offers other 'cover' for day pupils' parents who are unable to collect their children at the end of the School day.
